Bernier Fights on in 5th CD Race Without Will.
Fifth Congressional District Republican primary challenger Justin Bernier’s campaign manager has moved to West Virginia. Scott Will, who saw Bernier through the May 18th party nominating convention will be running Republican Patrick Morrisey’s bid for attorney general of West Virginia. Will was on the staff of Republican Linda McMahon’s 2010 United States Senate campaign.
Bernier placed third on the three ballots of the Republican convention. He finished second in the 2010 primary for the Republican nomination to face incumbent Democrat Christopher Murphy, who is running for the United States Senate this year. Bernier faces Mark Greenberg, Lisa Wilson-Foley, and party-endorsed candidate Andrew Roraback in the August 14th primary. The Republican race has been overshadowed in the past 12 days as scandal and confusion continue to overwhelm Democrat Christopher Donovan’s bid for his party’s nomination.
