Byron York Explains the Christie Investigation. WNYC Adds to Our Knowledge, Too.

Veteran conservative writer Byron York provided an insightful analysis of the burgeoning Chris Christie scandal. York analyzes what looks to be the way forward. Deep into the piece is a trip through the land mines for the New Jersey governor: immunity deals. When someone under scrutiny who enjoys only a middling place on the persons of interest totem pole exchanges information for immunity from prosecution, things start to happen. Unpleasant, significant things.

David Wildstein seems to have been in a position to know things about the George Washington Bridge scandal and other ways the Christie administration operated. York reports on rumors that he may have struck a deal with prosecutors. That would mean landfall in Trenton for a super political storm that Christie would have a hard time withstanding.

The trouble with public scandals is that they cause prosecutors, reporters and detractors of all sorts to start shining a light on previously unremarkable situations. WNYC does that here.
