Clark Filing FEC Complaint Against Wilson-Foley Over Rowland Consulting Deal.

Republican congressional hopeful and former FBI agent Mike Clark is filing a complaint with the Federal Elections Commission against opponent Lisa Wilson-Foley over her company’s financial arrangements with campaign booster, felonious former Governor John G. Rowland. In an statement issued Wednesday morning, Clark said, “Lisa Wilson-Foley must publicly disclose any and all agreements between Brian Foley, his associated businesses, and John Rowland.  She must disclose all agreements between herself, her campaign, Apple Rehab and any member of the Rowland family.  These disclosures must include all dates and amounts of payments, as well as full explanations for any non-disclosure to this point.  Further, I have instructed my staff to file a formal complaint with the Federal Election Commission, seeking its investigation regarding this alleged activity.”

Clark, who worked on the law enforcement team that put Rowland behind bars in 2005, added, “I am dismayed that Lisa Wilson-Foley appears to have turned towards the very corruption I fought by welcoming assistance from the formerly-jailed ex-Governor.”

The Wilson-Foley storm over her company’s payments to Rowland will test not only the Simsbury Republican, but also the other candidates in the race. Mark Greenberg refused Rowland’s request for a galumphing huge payment from a non-profit animal shelter to assist Greenberg’s 2010 congressional campaign. Republicans Justin Bernier and Andrew Roraback will need to step forward to show where they stand on the gathering storm in the race. So will others who aspire to lead.
