For Fedele, the Hours Seem Like Days.

Last Wednesday, Lieutenant Governor Michael Fedele told Greenwich Republicans that his campaign was hours away from meeting the $250,000 in small contributions necessary to receive public funding of his campaign for governor.  Another fundraising email was sent last night, this one from the candidate’s wife, Carol Fedele, asking for contributions up to $100 for the candidate who “brings to the table the experience, courage and character to get our economy back on track….”

References to character are likely to proliferate the Republican primary contest in light of revelations about frontrunner Tom Foley’s two arrests involving the use of motor vehicles.  Fedele’s ability to exploit voters’ doubts about Foley will remain limited if he has no money.  The Foley opening won’t do Fedele much good if he can’t take his contrasts to the airwaves.

I got that email from Mrs. Fedele too — It’s a little sad and appears that the Fedele campaign may be on its last legs.

Only a plea for money from Oz’s wife on his birthday may have been more desperate.

I don’t know why you would expect the lieutenant governor to be honest about the state of his campaign finances when the Rell administration (which he is an off again on again member of, depending on the situation ) was so dishearteningly unable to give straight answers about the true nature of the deficit.

One has to wonder; Would Mike be as accurate with state budget numbers as he has been with predictions regarding his campaign finances?

“The Foley opening ”

Only in your dreams Kevin….POOF no more story, no matter how much you keep whining about it, LOL!

No story? Really EdM? The man, guilty or not has been arrested twice AND continues to cover up the details of one of those incidents. CT has not always has forthcoming leaders and now more than ever, transparency is a HUGE selling point for voters. Fedele doesn’t have to qualify to “capitalize” on this issue. Voters should demand answers from the man who is currently leading in the polls and hold him accountable. I’m not judging or saying that people don’t make mistakes but when you are looking to be the head of State, you open yourself up to your constituents and shouldn’t keep secrets…especially if they are apparently a misunderstanding.

Hey JohnnyH — I think there is some dirt in Foley’s grade school permanent records. Let’s get those, too. Sheesh.

Yes johnny, there’s no story and Foley isn’t “covering up” anything and you wrongly stated. Nice try but you missed the mark.
