Griebel Snags Trio of Jumpers from Foley. Johnson Endorsement Pays Fast Dividends.
Republican gubernatorial candidate Oz Griebel has announced he’s convinced 3 Bristol delegates to the Republican nominating convention to switch their support from former Ambassador Tom Foley to him. One of the trio, Mary Alford, was announced as a Foley supporter. The other two switchers, Henry and Stacey Raymond, had not been claimed as supporters by the Foley campaign, according to spokesman Liz Osborn.
Alford, the 2009 Republican candidate for mayor of Bristol, declared that Griebel “ has the energy, charisma, passion and demonstrated ability to build consensus and bring people together. Our goal is to win in November. Oz is the strongest and best qualified candidate to lead us to victory.” Griebel also announced the endorsement of of 4 uncommitted Bristol delegates. That brings his Bristol total to 8.
Today’s announcement builds on the business association leader’s endorsement by former Congresswoman Nancy Johnson, a popular Republican figure who represented Bristol during most of her 24 years in Congress. Johnson, according to the Griebel campaign’s Ashley Maagero, was helpful in winning the business association leader’s progress in winning delegates in the run-up to the Republican convention in 2 weeks.

Griebel has absolutely no chance of getting 15% of the delegates at the convention never mind being endorsed. Why this guy is still in the race is completely beyond me.

I wonder if the naive Griebel campaign plans on trying to petition him on to the primary ballot since he’s no where near his 15%?
At least Schiff has admitted to himself that he won’t get the 15% at the convention and he’s already collecting signatures.
C’mon Kevin, you’re the investigative journalist, why don’t you ask him?
