It Begins. McMahon Goes on Medicare Offensive. Robocall Highlights Murphy Vote to Cut, Cut, Cut Current Benefits.

Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Christopher Murphy will learn what it’s like to be on the defensive. Republican Linda McMahon inflicts a heaping dose of the traditional Democratic Mediscare on the 3-term United States Representative. McMahon launches a robocall today calling out Murphy on his vote to cut $700 billion in cuts to Medicare when he supported the Affordable Care Act in 2010. The Medicare cuts in that legislation have always been tricky for supporters to explain. Murphy has an incentive to shape a persuasive answer.
Here’s the McMahon call script:
You’ll hear a lot of talk this election season about Medicare.
There’s only one candidate who’s voted to cut Medicare for current recipients.
That’s right, those receiving benefits right now.
And that’s Chris Murphy.
Chris Murphy voted to cut 700 billion dollars out of our Medicare benefits.
I don’t know about you, but I rely on my Medicare benefits.
And politicians like Chris Murphy need to keep their hands off.
Paid for by Linda McMahon for Senate 2012.
