It’s a Deal: Malloy-Wyman ’10

State Comptroller Nancy Wyman will abandon her sinecure to take on Simsbury First Selectman Mary Glassman at the Democratic state convention.  The two will compete for the party’s nomination for lieutenant governor.  Wyman joins gubernatorial candidate Dan Malloy to face the Lamont-Glassman ticket announced a week ago.

Malloy and Wyman will try to wedge lieutenant governor aspirant Kevin Lembo into the comptroller’s nomination, though this may prove one adjustment too many.  Legislators who understand what’s ahead in Connecticut budgeteering may see the comptroller’s nomination as an escape hatch.

In the meantime, expect an announcement from the Malloy-Wyman campaign Tuesday.

Once again, Kevin Rennie breaks a very interesting story. Kudos.

Great team who combine talent and the right experience. Go Dan and Nancy!

Go Dan and Nancy! Lembo as Comptroller makes sense, at our dtc meeting, he talked about his experience as Assistant State Comptroller. So I think it would be a natural fit. I liked him for Lieutenant Governor, but there’s no competing with Nancy. Glad we will still see him at convention, and hopefully accepting the nomination.

5 Lembo for Comptroller { 05.10.10 at 3:54 pm }

Lucky us that we now can have Kevin Lembo as Comptroller. Kevin worked as Assistant Comptroller under Nancy Wyman and is now are State Healthcare Advocate. I think he’ll be great in the position and will be a real benefit to Dan Malloy and Nancy Wyman! GO CT!

Are there any other $100,000 + plus jobs that require you to do nothing that Kevin Lembo can aspire to? How about running for an office that matters first? Earn your stripes.

Team Dan & Nancy is a sure win at the convention which was leaning Dan’s way but now its a landslide. And any primary this year will not be like 2006. Malloy is going to win period. In 2006, you had Lamont on the ticket the issue was the war but know it is about fiscal leadership and the future of the state. Being brave, in changing the way government works. And by the way, I always enjoy your columns Mr. Rennie

So Nancy Wyman and Dan Malloy wait til the last minute so that their boy Kevin Lembo can be handed Comptroller? Talk about back room deal-making. It’s just the kind of thing Wyman said no to in 1994. State Rep. Reynolds was completely screwed by this deal. These Hartford insiders are just the problem with why our state is such a mess.

Oh, here comes the backroom stuff- a common motto used by unhappy news or to motivate the troops into action. Reynolds or Lembo would make a wonderful choice for Comptroller.
