McMahon, Foley Score Big Wins in Middletown Straw Poll. Result a Disappointment for Simmons.
The Middlletown Republican Town Committee held an Iowa-like cattle call and straw poll tonight. The 186 Republicans who paid $10 each to participate dealt a blow to the Rob Simmons campaign a couple of days after the former congressman revived his suspended campaign. Simmons represented Middletown during his first term in Congress.
The three Senate candidates spoke to the crowd. Tom Foley and Oz Griebel did too, Michael Fedele was represented by running mate Mark Boughton.
The results:
For U.S. Senate:
Linda McMahon: 106 Peter Schiff: 46 Rob Simmons: 34
For Governor:
Michael Fedele: 18 Tom Foley: 138 Oz Griebel: 35

Wow, Griebel doubled up Fidele. Further proof that even with almost 3 million dollars in misbegotten taxpayers funds his campaign is going absolutely nowhere.

Linda’s troops and money were on display. It’s no wonder she got those results. What’s notable is how well Peter fared against she and Simmons.
Word has it Fooley matched every vote with $10 towards the middletown RTC. Can someone quote how much he has donated to them thus far? Straw poll = LOL.
Simmons wasn’t there nor did he address those present.

I think it’s complete nonsense when a win by either Foley or McMahon happens…it some how has to do with money. Face it. They are the front runners, they will win their primaries. They are our best chance to win in Nov. The two Republicans (Rell & Fedele) in the exec. branch put us in a bad situation for this election.
Foley & McMahon have both had negative things come out about them in the past 6 months and they’re still leading and gaining.
The point is… stop being a bunch of two years old and act like adults.

Really? Schiff heard the results and when they invited Linda to the podium to say a few words, Peter Schiff stomped out in a huff.

ALM, one doesn’t have to be a paid campaign staff person for Tom Foley to know that’s absolutely, positively not true. All you have to do is ask the treasurer of the the Middletown RTC to confirm if she received any money from Tom Foley. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that one out so hopefully this simple explanation cleared things up for you.
I don’t know what your definition of “camp” is but I am not a paid staffer for the Tom Foley campaign. I’ve spoken to some of the staffers on that campaign from time to time as well as staffers from other campaigns too, Democrat and Republican. Yes I’m voting for Tom Foley in the primary but just because I took issue with someone here who is spreading false rumors does not mean I’m a paid staffer from the campaign.
And yes “Lionel” I can quote to you exactly how much money Tom Foley has given to the Middletown RTC:
ZERO dollars.
You really shouldn’t try to lie about things that are public information and easily verified.
