Milford Failed to Appeal Court Decision.

As Senator Gayle Slossberg pursues emergency legislation to overturn a case her husband lost while representing the Town of Milford, the voice of the public will be silenced in the halls of government. The extraordinary procedure Slossberg is pursuing shuts out public participation and transparency to stop a recycling plant from operating in her district. No public hearings will be held. No committees will scrutinize this favor to the Slossbergs. There remain nagging questions that ought to be posed until satisfactory answers are offered. Here’s one: If this matter is urgent to Milford, why didn’t the town appeal last year’s Superior Court decision upholding the recycling companies action for a declaratory judgment?
