Misty Water-Colored Memories

Ah, Greenberg Quinlan Rosner has been polling Connecticut voters again.  This time, it’s for Sergeant Blumenthal.  The firm found that their client has suffered not a bit from revelations that the Democrat running for the U.S. Senate has a startling history of claiming, among other fibs, to have worn “the uniform in Vietnam.”  The polling firm says Blumenthal leads professional wrestling diva Linda McMahon by 15 points.  A Rasmussen poll showed her in a dead heat with the fantasy-weaver last week.

Five months ago, Greenberg was taking Connecticut’s temperature for Senator Christopher Dodd.  Just before Christmas, Greenberg announced Dodd was running even with McMahon and trailed Republican Rob Simmons by only 5 points.  Those were wildly optimistic results compared to what independent polls were finding.  Dodd signaled his confidence in his own pollster by exiting the race two weeks after Greenberg’s rescue bid for Dodd.
