O’Garro a Generous Donor to State Democrats. Files for Divorce.

Hartford insurance agent Earl O’Garro, whose troubles continue to mount, made generous donations to a trio of Connecticut Democrats. Federal campaign finance reports show O’Garro gave $2,000 to Christopher Donovan’s scandal-plagued run for Congress in late 2011. In September 2012, O’Garro donated $500 to John Larson’s re-election bid. O’Garro’s largest contributions, however, went to U.S. Senator Christopher Murphy’s 2012 campaign. On July 10, 2012, O’Garro gave Murphy $5,000 in two $2,500 contributions, one for the August primary, the other for the general election campaign.

On Tuesday afternoon, O’Garro’s lawyer, Corey Brinson, said he would have no comment on the allegations arising out of $670,000 in missing insurance premiums paid to O’Garro’s Hybrid Insurance Group.

Another O’Garro lawyer, the formidable Lisa Faccadio, has initiated a dissolution of marriage action on behalf of Earl O’Garro. It was filed on October 11th.
