She Lives. Windsor Absentee Ballot Voter Found in Nursing Home.
Fewer than 2,000 votes were cast in the 5th Assembly District Democratic primary on August 14th. The lead has gone back and forth numerous times between Leo Canty and Brandon McGee in the ensuing five weeks. A court-ordered recount began Monday. The Windsor portion concluded Monday evening with the top two candidates tied and Hartford left to count. One Windsor absentee ballot was not counted because she was believed to have died between casting the ballot and the primary. The voter, however, seems to have been located in a Windsor nursing home.
The ballot remains sealed. Its disposition will be determined at a meeting of the parties Tuesday afternoon. It will have no impact on the outcome of the recount if it is cast in favor of the third place candidate, Windsor mayor Donald Trinks.
