Supreme Court Takes Ballot Case.
Connecticut’s Supreme Court will hear arguments on the Republican Party’s action for the top spot on the state’s November ballots on Wednesday, September 12th. Republicans will file a brief by August 27th. The Defendant, Secretary of the State Denise Merrill, will have until September 6th to submit her brief.
Republicans contend that they are entitled to the first line of the ballot by virtue of 2010 gubernatorial candidate receiving the most votes on a single line. While Foley lost narrowly to Dannel P. Malloy, a Democrat, who received a critical boost from votes cast for him as the Working Families Party nominee.
