Wyman Almost Unleashes “L” Word on Glassman.

The party-endorsed Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor, State Comptroller Nancy Wyman, took rival Mary Glassman to task today for “unnecessary and misleading statements” about their debate schedule, coming close to calling the Simsbury Democrat a liar.  Glassman issued a statement late last week declaring she’d “won” by wrestling Wyman into a debate.  The Tolland Democrat, however, had been the first of the two to agree to a July 26th talkathon on Connecticut Public Radio.

The two will meet again the next day at a forum sponsored by Women Organizing Women.

Wyman points out in her message that Glassman’s making a “puzzling claim” that Wyman’s avoiding debates when  she’s eager for them.  Wyman originally challenged Glassman to a series of debates around the state.  Wyman then accepted Glassman’s short-lived invitation to a 4 way debate featuring Dan Malloy and Wyman v. Ned Lamont and Glassman.  Lamont’s make it clear he has no interest in any debates with Malloy between now and the August 10th primary.

Wyman sounds infuriating at her discovery of how untethered to the truth her opponent remains.  More harsh language will follow.
