Connecticut Politics to Become Duller. Chris Healy Out of Race for Republican Chair.
Chris Healy has told supporters that he will not seek a third term as chairman of the Republican State Central Committee. The committee is comprised of 72 members, two elected from each state Senate district.
With no power to exercise in state government and no Republican members of Congress from Connecticut, the race for chairman has become the focus of much frustrated energy.
Whoever replaces Healy will unlikely bring the same verve and vivid use of the English language to the job.

It’s doubtful anyone could match Healy’s fiery wit and acerbic remarks; in that regard he has brought pleasure to many Connecticut Republicans.

If lofty language and losing elections brings pleasure to the CT GOP, then the party has been in constant orgasm for almost five years!
I love Healy’s wit & wish him well, but results are results. Time for a fresh start.
I heard he’s being fitted for wrestling tights.
It’s about time. The results of his tenure are obvious
KEEP HEALY CHAIR!
Tom Foley should become the next chairman of the Republican Party of Connecticut. After he finishes that, he should semi retire as the Mayor of Greenwich, taking care of his enclave of wealthy cronies. Let’s hear it for Tom Foley, the Republican king of Greenwich!
Maybe the new Republican chairman of Connecticut should be TOM FOLEY. That way, we won’t have to worry about him actually running for public office again. What a fiasco. A total farce, after we learned about the undisclosed arrests and such.
Healy will go down as the best chair since Droney.
Dean, what is it about Foley that made him a “total farce”? If not for two rigged cities, he’d be our governor right now, and your taxes would not be going up.
Healy never fought hard enough and his wife was on Linda McMahon’s payroll during the election! We need to clean house and bring some real tea party fervor to this Party!
As long as Doug Hageman is not the chair, we are doing well. He is mean, divisive and unworthy of a position with the party.
You can complain all you want about rigged votes, but TOM FOLEY himself said there was no evidence of voting fraud or misconduct. He conceded, so get over it.
That does not relieve him of his duty to have come clean with the public when he ran for office, such as disclosing his previous arrests, and leveling with everybody about what really happened at Bibb Textiles. And what about the allegedly falsified Federal security clearance forms? Come on! I’m not hurling any accusations, but it sure seems fishy. Why is it that Jon Lender at the Hartford Courant newspaper had to expose all that, instead of TOM FOLEY revealing his buried sins himself?
Smells like a “rich guy cover-up.”
