Republican Field Clearing for Aniskovich.

Four Republican hopefuls in the contest to lead the battered state party’s organization left the field on Tuesday. Three endorsed frontrunner William Aniskovich.

Jim Campbell, Justin Clark, and Art Scialabba withdrew as the 72 member Republican State Central Committee were to gather in a closed meeting to hear the contenders. Doug Hageman withdrew with a Tweet-terse even by Twitter standards-that did not mention other contenders.

As voters express their dismay with big-spending state government in 2 polls, Republicans activitsts appear to be about to select a big-spending former legislator and state contractor to lead them. Contrast with the state’s Democrats will be a challenge for Republicans with Aniskovich as one of its leading spokesmen.

The Connecticut GOP seems to be choosing to commit political suicide!!!! I hear that up to 30% of the base will bolt the party if this man replaces Chris Healy!!

Than that 30% of the base will cut off it’s nose to spite it’s face. Those like Joe Visconti and others seem content to rail against what they see as “collusion” in getting candidates for the State GOP Chair to drop out of the race. They beat their chests in an effort to claim the scalp of anyone who does not walk in lock step with their views of party operations. And when you say 30% of the base, you should be clearer and say 30% of the “party insiders.” Do you really believe the rank and file Republican is going to care at all when they go to the voting booth and have the choice of voting for a party that’s brought us this nightmarish budget, or a party that does not support early prison release and higher taxes as a means to budgetary ends? Come on – the folks on State Central may have representative positions – but the regular folks won’t care if the state party chair is Bill, Catherine, or Mickey Mouse, for God’s sake.

You’d be hard pressed to find 3% of party members who even know who Chris Healy or Bill Aniskovich are DANNEL SMITH.

This CT republican is looking for a party leader that will back conservatives. If the ctgop does’t get their act together for 2012, I will change my affiliation to UNaffiliated.

The Democrats and their media pals will make sure all the voters know.

Funny how Cafero opened his arms to embrace “new blood” at the January 8 meeting in New Britain, and then proceeds to alienate the very people he invited to join the GOP.

The CT GOP has barely 20% of the registered voters. Soon that number will sink to 15%. Poor choices reflect poorly on the Party. Is it any wonder why the GOP label in Connecticut is poison?

We need a chair with a clean track record and clear conscience. Some of the candidates could not answer a simple question, is there anything in your past you fell could hinder your ability. Quess which one above didn’t answer?

Like the Democrats and their media pals wouldn’t make hay over WHOMEVER the State Central members chose??? Come on – even if it isn’t true, they’d make up stories about anyone who came out of June 28th on top. As I said before, do you seriously think the registration of the GOP is going to drop by at least 5% because of who the State GOP Chairman is??? People aren’t going to care who the head of the CT Republicans may be, they’re more concerned with getting whacked in the wallet while the Democrats are pushing hard for “transitional” men to use the women’s room!!

Catherime Marx is our only choice. The votes are linig up for her dispite Anisovichks antics…those who supportted him have now begun to see how inappropriate he is!

CT Voter, it’s not going to happen at this point. Same for constitutionalist, libertarian or just plain anything small (let alone smaller) government. No way. The best they’ll do is try to paint someone that’s big government, taking CEP money or with enough sacred cows to support just enough big spending as “conservative”. Like the Democrats, the only fix that person will come up with goes to one or more of the following –

1) Create a tax
2) Tinker with a tax (but don’t abolish it)
3) Create a program
4) Modify an existing program
5) Create a restriction
6) Create a tax incentive, credit or deduction

As for Ms Marx – she was the one who looked in another direction when her Chairman couldn’t keep his mouth from the bottle, or when he stated that he never received any complaints from the voters in CT in reference to his wife on a certain campaign, should I keep listing his faults? How can she help the party? She is part of the Healy past – and look – what did he do? What did he win? Let’s look at this Gov. – No, Sec – No, Treas – No, Comptroller – No, Congress – No , Senate – NO . As for the House Republicans they all won on their own. He was cashing in a on campaign his wife should had never been on.
