A Race That Continues After Today.

The East Windsor Town Hall is host to one of that northern Connecticut town’s two polling places.  I stopped there this morning on business and ran into West Hartford Democratic State Representative Andrew Fleischmann.  He was there to encourage fellow Democrat Ted Graziani, who is trying to fight off a stiff challenge from  young, hardworking Republican Chris Davis. It’s a rematch of the 2008 contest in the 57th Assembly District.

Fleischmann was lending a hand to Graziani.  Maybe a victorious Graziani will help Fleischman in the race for majority leader when Democrats gather to pick a successor to Denise Merrill, who is hoping to become secretary of the state today.

Fleischmann could get a very big break in the race or majority leader if North Haven Democrat Steve Fontana succumbs to a Republican wave.  Republicans in the House have high hopes that that seat could be among a cull of as many as 15 House wins around the state.

Many ambitious politicians thinking  about the future today as they juggle those sugar plum visions.
