Andrew Roraback Moves Toward 5th District Starting Line.
State Senator Andrew Roraback is expected to enter the Republican race for Congress in Connecticut’s 5th District. Incumbent Democrat Christopher Murphy’s U.S. Senate bid has made this a highly-prized open seat. Roraback will be the fifth Republican to seek the party’s nomination, joining Justin Bernier, Mike Clark, Mark Greenberg, and Lisa Wilson-Foley.
Roraback, whose senate district covers a broad swath of northwestern Connecticut, has been seeking commitments of support from some of the district’s most influential and popular Republican stalwarts. The popular legislator has been receiving significant encouragement to join the race, Daily Ructions has learned. An announcement that he’s in is imminent.
