Blue Over Green Jobs.

Yikes, what an embarrassment for Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick.  Evergreen Solar, a Patrick favorite in his quest to make the commonwealth a center of green jobs in the wishful-thinking haven of clean energy, is closing after receiving $58 million in state aid.  Shutting the plant will cost 800 workers their jobs.

Read the full, dispiriting story of the government trying to identify winners in the marketplace. The company must have had a mighty persuasive, expensive lobbyist.  What they appear never to have had was a profit.
