Could This Be the New Face of Economic Development in Connecticut?

Governor Dannel P. Malloy is giving a big buildup to his announcement of a Commissioner of the Department of Economic and Community Development at 2:20 p.m..  Yesterday, his press office alerted reporters to an impending “major announcement” on Thursday.  This morning, another email pulled the curtain back by revealing he would present a new leader for DECD.

The announcement is accompanied by much speculation on Malloy’s choice to help lift the state out of its persistent economic doldrums.  Daily Ructions is hearing Malloy has tapped insurance executive and loyal Democratic contributor Catherine H. Smith.
