Deadline Today for Hartford Primary Petitions.

Candidates hoping to force a primary for Democratic nominations for city office in Hartford have until 4 p.m. today to submit petitions.  Hopefuls defeated at July’s town committee nominating convention get another chance if they can advance to the September primary.

Edwin Vargas hopes to meet today’s deadline and keep his challenge of incumbent Pedro Segarra alive.  As the deadline approached, state Representative Kelvin Roldan was said by local activists to be considering abandoning his stalled campaign against the incumbent city treasurer, Adam Cloud.
