Donovan: Thank You, and Could You Spare $5?

Speaker of the House Christopher Donovan thanked supporters and others in an email today, six weeks after losing the bitter 5th Congressional District Democratic primary. Abandoning his taste for the grandiose, Donovan notes, “We had a difficult few months….” Those must have been the ones when the campaign was torpedoed by arrests arising out of federal investigation of dodgy fundraising practices.

Without bills on the legislative calendar to advance or delay, Donovan’s request to email recipients is modest. He asks, “Can I count on you to donate $5 to help me retire this debt?” That’s a number lobbyists and their clients have not heard from the aggressive Donovan in his many previous appeals.
