Elizabeth Esty Posts Hefty Quarter Million in 2Q. Raises Total to $423k. Midsummer $361k in Bank.

Fifth District Democratic congressional contender Elizabeth Esty kept up a formidable fundraising pace in the second quarter of the year, bringing in $251,422.99 from near and far.  The one-term former state representative from Cheshire has raised $423,653.99 so far.  Her campaign hasn’t incurred many expenses, so she’s got $361,419.67 on hand.

Esty’s support, according to her report filed with the FEC, included more than 100 donors from Connecticut.  She also showcased rooters in Boston, California, and greater Washington, D.C.

Esty’s fundraising skill serve notice to Speaker of the House Christopher Donovan and newcomer Daniel Roberti that this will remain a crowded and vigorous contest for the nomination that will only be settled by a competitive primary next August.
