An Esty Vanishes.

Maybe the Executive and Legislative Nominations Committee of the Connecticut legislature could not meet Daniel Esty’s price of $12,000 to make a local public appearance.  Governor Dannel P. Malloy’s nominee to head his new environmental and energy agency was scheduled for a public hearing and committee vote tomorrow, March 3rd.  Somewhere along the road from Cheshire to Hartford, his name vanished, leaving only Glenn Marshal, of Milford, to be considered for Labour Commissioner.

BP-booster Esty’s nomination, Daily Ructions has learned, is said to have run into strong headwinds in the Gulf of Meriden. The weather may be calmer in the Senate.

UPDATE: Governor Malloy’s office says that a only a scheduling conflict keeps Mr. Esty from appearing at his confirmation hearing Wednesday.  If the committee is unable to take action before the clock runs out, the nomination will be resubmitted to the House.
