Final Rasmussen: McMahon Cuts Blumenthal Lead to 7.

The last  Rasmussen survey of the 2010 United States Senate campaign in Connecticut shows Republican Linda McMahon within 7 points of Democrat frontrunner Richard Blumenthal.  The McMahon campaign has been claiming that its polling shows a closer race than what public polls have revealed in the last 2 weeks.  The professional wrestling maven was optimistic on in an interview on WOR-710 AM interview with John Gambling this morning, declaring that she believes she’s in a dead heat with the 5-term attorney general.

The Blumenthal campaign may be seeing the same narrowing.  It was scrambling late last week to purchase television ads in the expensive New York media market.  Blumenthal poured most of his individual fortune into the race in a late bid to boost spending.

The poll was conducted yesterday and surveyed 750 likely voters.  It has a margin of error of +/- 4 points.
