Actually Ed, he was a hell of a lot closer than you were. But, as well all know, you never let facts get in your way.
Actually Ken, I was still right and you and Kevin were still wrong. “Close” only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
The FACT is Foley won but don’t let that get in your way of not being able to admit you were wrong.
Where’s Doug Hageman? I was wondering how Fedele did in Southington.
Given how close the race was, there’s no question that with Jodi Rell’s endorsement Mike Fedele would have won. There’s also almost no question that without Mark Boughton agreeing to team up with Mike and combine their kitties, he couldn’t have been competitive at all against Tom Foley and couldn’t have hammered him with the Bibb commercials.
So, any bets on which meeting will be more awkward? The next time Jodi sees Mike, or when Mark finally sits down with Tom?

What planet are you on? Oz is by far the weakest against Malloy and Foley is the strongest. You may not agree with that kenny but the people and the polls do.
Mark and Tom don’t have much to talk about. I’m sure Tom would have loved to campaign with and for Mark but the SEEC made that impossible. The only thing Boughton can do at this point is have a nice vacation.

Because outside of your postings here I’ve heard nothing about this – you’d think this would be the kind of thing that would be fodder for countless stories about the primary outcome.
Sure, Fedele probably would have won if he had another week. Sure, it was tighter than alot of people anticipated. But I have to side with Ed here. “Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades”, and where I come from, a win is a win. What is noticed here is that not one of the assholes that said Tom was going to lose has said, “well gee I sure called that one wrong”.

Boughton doesn’t have a committee anymore, he has no money therefore no way to campaign. The press doesn’t care and the amateur bloggers probably aren’t smart enough to figure it out. Some people think the law says what that idiot “Sue” said in her stupid comments in the link I gave you above. A large majority of the rest haven’t even thought about it yet including Boughton himself who’s on vacation.

Maybe the SEEC will invent yet another “Advisory Opinion” that violates the law which seems to work out quite well for those people who think they’re above the law. Until they do, Boughton has no committee and no money and Foley can’t make any expenditures on behalf of Boughton because that would be an “in-kind” contribution to Boughton’s candidate committee which WHOOOOOPS, no longer exists thanks to the SEEC being either stupid or deliberately slimy to screw the Republicans.

Ken, you’re missing the point completely. Yes, they are on the ballot together so yes they are “running” together but Boughton has no campaign committee so he can’t raise and spend any money on signs, advertising or even a palm card and Tom Foley can’t make any expenditures on behalf of him because again, he has no candidate committee to receive in-kind contributions, why can’t you get that through your thick head? Go look at Rell’s reports from 2006 or any Gubernatorial candidate’s financial disclosure statements. They are full of expenditures made to LG candidate committee’s and those LG candidate committee’s reports reflect those as in-kind contributions.
Where has Foley “been bad mouthing Boughton for months.” You have no proof of that so stop lying.
The illegal Fedele/Boughton thing has nothing to do with the matter at hand. The SEEC allowing Boughton and Fedele to break the law is a big part of what caused today’s problem.
