Fox News Poll Finds Senate Race Down to 6 Points. Final Debate Tonight in New London.

This week’s Fox News survey of the Connecticut race for the United States Senate finds Attorney General Richard Blumenthal leading Republican Linda McMahon 49% to 43%.  A week ago, Mr. Blumenthal was ahead of Mrs. McMahon by 10 points.  The Fox analysis points to Mr. Blumenthal’s rambling answer on how a job is created as a cause for the race tightening.

There are other indications that the epic contest that began in January with the 5 term attorney general enjoying a 41 point lead is again headed into the too-close-to-call zone.  National Democrats are pulling money out of other Senate races deemed to have slipped away (like Missouri) and are making significant media buys in Connecticut.  The McMahon camp seems to have recovered its balance and nerve after their candidate’s close encounter with the minimum wage.  Nerves at Fort Blumenthal appear to be raw as Mrs. McMahon continues to bombard the former Marine Corp Reserve sergeant with a stark commercial featuring video of his false claims to have served in Vietnam.  It is the Vietnam revelation, more than any other issue, slip, or swings and roundabouts, that has made the wealthy Greenwich Democrat susceptible to the wealthy Greenwich Republican making her first bid for public office.

Mr. Blumenthal’s negatives are climbing in public and private polls. Half the voters, according to the Fox poll, don’t trust Mr. Blumenthal, and almost the same number say the same of Mrs. McMahon.  That leaves little opportunity for either candidate to break into a canter in the last three weeks of the campaign.  This is not where Mr. Blumenthal expected to be when he began his campaign in January.  Mrs. McMahon is probably surprised, too, but in a good way.

The candidates meet tonight in New London for their final debate of the campaign.  They will have debated three times.  Mrs. McMahon during the summer agreed to nearly a dozen debates, Mr. Blumenthal accepted only three invitations.

McMahon has the punch-drunk fighter on the ropes and is moving in to lay him out. That is if she can find him. After all he has been weaving and waffling lately, refusing to engage in campaigning activities such as a cooking show and man in the street questions. So maybe he wont show up, maybe sending in Dodd to be his second.

Linda is ready to take on anyone the dems send up. Not any one of them can match her ideas and plans to bring back jobs to CT and straighten out the financial morass the dems have put us in.

Funny how the Dems were happy to point to a Fox News poll as unquestionable evidence that Blumenthal had weathered the storm, and now that the same poll has it narrowing to the same Rasmussen-QPoll gap, it’s not trustworthy because it’s Fox News.

Linda is just terrible. It is people like her that threw our country in to recession. So why on earth would we want to put one of them in office where they have the power to make political and legislative changes to fit their own agenda. Not only that, but her company is being investigated criminally. Do we really want a criminal in our government? Voting for Linda is a big mistake. She’ll continue to give big companies tax breaks that allow the rich to stay rich and keep mainstream poor. She’ll continue to support outsourcing causing many jobs to go over seas. Not only that, but she has no political experience. We don’t have time to train someone. We need someone with experience.

All she has on Blumenthal is that he “misquoted” about his Vietnam experiences, and she calls him a liar for it. Well, she lied about her college degree. What else is she lying about? Do we really want an uneducated liar in our government?

In conclusion Linda is an uneducated woman who has questionable ethical standards. no political experience, and has many reasons to continue tax breaks for the rich and continue pushing mainstream in to poverty. Anyone who votes for Linda is either a rich wall street tycoon, or someone that really doesn’t understand the issues and probably shouldn’t be voting anyway.
