Had Enough v. Never Enough.
Here’s another measure of how dramatically the political landscape has changed: Linda McMahon praises Warren Harding and Calvin Coolidge in the economics lecture she delivers in a reply missive to Edward M. Kennedy, Jr. Mr. Kennedy, the son of the late Massachusetts senator, nephew of the martyred 35th president, and a Connecticut resident, requested that Mrs. McMahon, the Republican nominee for the United States Senate, take down an ad featuring President John F. Kennedy talking about the benefits of tax cuts on the economy.
Mr. Kennedy’s September 21st letter ended with a bumptious request that Mrs. McMahon “offer a statement of retraction that clarifies how his [JFK’s] are, in fact, different from yours.” Well, pal, you asked for it. Mrs. McMahon instead delivers a fluent summary of the history of America in the last 90 years as told through tax cuts. It’s not quite the Laffer Curve on the back of a napkin that helped convert Ronald Reagan to more dynamic economics, but it does the job.
Mr. Kennedy, and by association Democrat Richard Blumenthal, are plumping for a tax increase that, as Mrs. McMahon points out at the center of her letter, will take billions from Connecticut taxpayers and send them to politicians in Washington. She wants to close the spigot, they want more to flow because it’s never enough for those people. Never. The world is a series of unmet needs that require the more aggressive redistribution of other people’s income.
The exchange of letters has crystalized this campaign into two opposing philosophies that is not to Mr. Blumenthal’s advantage: Had Enough v. Never Enough.

Linda McMahon has a PHD in common sense and a MFA in street sense. No Kennedy has the sense to stay out of trouble!
Well, Kevin, I have had enough too. You NEVER have ENOUGH excuses for this vacant woman. So she had a staffer write a questionable historic response to the Kennedy letter and you turn her into a hero. She has consistently been asked pertinent questions regarding issues in this country and her response is always the same–“This is not the proper venue to discuss that,” or “I don’t know enough about that to comment right now, let me look into it”. How do you defend that as a responsible journalist, commentator, and political observer? Linda says she is going to “cut spending” but offer herself a hefty continued tax cut “because you don’t raise taxes in a recession”. Those are the same tax cuts that have been in place for 10 years and created the recession in the first place.
Whether or not you are a Republican simply defending a Republican, you still have to focus on the facts. Linda makes many claims that are just campaign cliches such as her attempts to scare seniors with phony claims that Blumenthal “could take their doctor away or end Medicare”. You KNOW that is NOT true, so why don’t you say so. Where is the integrity?
It’s understandable that the heir to the Kennedy family would not want the JFK legacy going to help a republican. But the party of JFK today is NOT the party it was under his leadership in 1960. Ms. McMahon is right to point out that Ed Kennedy’s objection is pure politics and not substance. Any comparison purely based upon economics supports her advertisement message.
In a year where voters will get to choose between an established lifetime politician versus a businesswoman–there could be no more stark a contrast in policies.
Linda is the woman that Connecticut needs right now.
The Democrats have done a disservice to this state. Our delegation gets back only 69% of every dollar we send to DC. They’ve backed every tax and spend scheme Pelosi and Obama have pushed. We need more fiscal conservative in DC. Bleumy has exceeded his authority, put companies out of business with lawuits or chased them out of state. He and the Dems are responsible for the high costs of electricity, taxes and for doing business. Every business friendly rating showsCT near the bottom. Get rid of the Dems because they’ll never cut a budget, ask unions for cuts or reduce cost of business.
In the end the voters will need to choose between someone who is a Pelosi/Reid/Obama clone supporting their failed policies or a Republican. Supporting a Democrat means no jobs, higher taxes, more corruption in Congress ala Waters, Rangel ,Murtha, Franks, Dodd, and more intrusion by government in our lives.

Considering their family record, that in itself a noteworthy event.
