Hartford Primary: Segarra Supporters Defeat Roldan Slate. Clean Sweep Leaves Roldan With No Seats.

State Representative Kelvin Roldan and every member of his slate lost their bids for seats on the Democratic Town Committee. The winners, supporters of Mayor Pedro Segarra led by Mark DiBella, scored a stunning sweep of the 13 town committee seats at stake in the newly constituted 4th Assembly District.

Roldan, whose campaign committee was fueled by lobbyist contributions, garnered just 319 votes in official returns, 17 votes behind the lowest vote-getter on the winning slate.  This is the legislator’s 3rd defeat in less than a year. Tonight’s results mean Roldan will be denied the party part endorsement for the legislature should he seek another term.
