House Democrats Declare Jobs Session Goal: Protecting Theirs

House Democrats have announced their agenda for next week’s special session on jobs in Connecticut: raise money. The public campaign finance champions do like a walk on the dark side.  Speaker of the House Christopher Donovan (who’s been hounding lobbyists for help funding his congressional campaign) is hosting the early morning October 26th event for DEMpac at the Officer’s Club on the state legislature campus.

It’s a hefty tab for scrambled eggs.  PACs and individuals pay $1,000.  Lobbyists (who do not qualify as individuals) pay $100—but they know to roundup checks from clients and others if they are to get in on the goody fest that the jobs session is becoming.

Staffers in the House Democrats office are said to be making fundraising calls to lobbyists, Daily Ructions has learned.
