House Democrats Open Wood ‘n Tap Doors to Special Interests. Will Promenade Energy Committee Members for Hefty Contributions.
House Democrats will lead energy interests on a merry dance this week. They’ve worked energy companies over for years during each session of the legislature, producing some the highest energy costs in the nation.
On Thursday, the House Democrats will test the Stockholm Syndrome by holding a fundraising event for the House Democrats Campaign Committee featuring star of the show Speaker of the House Christopher Donovan and special guest stars “Members of the Energy and Technology Committee,” who “will be hosting a fundraiser to benefit the HOUSE DEMOCRATS,” according to the invitation to the event. Tickets run from $100 for a “supporter” to $250 for a “friend” to $500 for a sponsor. The maximum contribution is $1,000, but that comes with no label that the sponsors chose not to reveal.
The members of the Energy and Technology Committee have a lot of power over how the energy industry works (or does not) in Connecticut. If you’re in the energy business, it’s important. That’s not an invitation, it’s a command if you know what’s good for you. Attendance, you may be sure, will be taken.

I got the same invitation and I have no connection to the energy industry. I plan on going anyway, will you be there Kevin?
