It’s 1984 Again. Malloy Announces State’s “Thought Leaders”.

“Thought leaders will help gather input in specific policy areas,” declares Democratic and Working Families Governor-Elect Dannel Malloy’s announcement of his “working policy groups” in 12 areas from agriculture to transportation.  Twenty-two co-chairs have been announced so far.  More, according to the transition team press release, will follow.

Of all the unfortunate phrases that come to mind when a list includes, for example, the regrettable former head of the state’s Department of Corrections, Theresa Lantz, “thought leaders” is not one of them.  The group’s mission, should they decide to accept it, is to find new ways to make the government busier without costing money.  Malloy would also like it to find ways to save money.
