Jarjura v. SEEC, et al Continues Tuesday.

Campaign funding of the Democratic race for comptroller is no clearer at the end of the day than it was at the beginning.  Judge James Graham will hear more from the Jarjura and Lembo campaigns Tuesday in the action brought by Waterbury Mayor Michael Jarjura objecting to the state’s election agency’s approval of a public grant for endorsed Democrat Kevin Lembo for the August 10th primary.

The issues involve the method used by the election agency to determine whether Lembo reached the required $75,000 in small contributions required to obtain $375,000 in taxpayer funds.  In addition, the Jarjura campaign claims the state agency extended the time Lembo was allowed to collect contributions beyond the July 16th deadline.

Judge James Graham is presiding.  He’s married to former state Representative Mary Eberle, so Judge Graham brings some knowledge of campaign campaign fundamentals to the case.
