Looking for Cover

While state politicians dominate the news straining to make graceful, simultaneous exits from one race while entering another, Governor Rell will nominate at least two members of her administration to the Superior Court bench.  Additional judges aren’t needed.  Nevertheless, the governor’s office is seething at resistance to the new judges at the Judicial Department.  Rell’s office won’t be able to justify the expense more judges add to dire state government finances.  To get her lieutenants safe and dry on the bench, Rell will have to include some Democrats in the package.
