Malloy and Wyman Accept Glassman’s Invitation to 4-Way Confab.

Democratic lieutenant governor hopeful Mary Glassman blurted out an idea yesterday and the Malloy-Wyman ticket accepts her kind invitation to a 4-way debate with the Simsbury first selectman and her running mate, Ned Lamont.  Glassman found herself doing a turn with felonious former governor John G. Rowland as he guest hosted on WTIC 1080 AM radio.  It should have been a matey reunion as Glassman was a Rowland campaign contributor.  She found herself in a jam trying to defend Lamont’s skedaddle from a New London Day/WTNH-Channel 8 debate with primary opponent Dan Malloy. She proposed a debate between the 2 teams in the August 10th primary.

Today, the Malloy/Wyman team accepted Glassman’s offer.  They suggest using that empty hour Lamont created in Channel 8’s July 27th schedule.  Team Lamont may be wondering what they got when they picked Glassman in May.  It wasn’t delegates.

In the meantime, Wyman and Glassman are scheduled for their own radio debate on Monday, July 26th on WNPR.  Expect some fireworks, or at least someone getting singed.

Why is Lamont so hesitant to debate Malloy again? If Ned can’t take the heat now, what’s going to happen when (and if) he’s facing Republicans? Will he refuse to debate then, too.
