Malloy: Foley’s Brave Democrat Is Insider Scorned.
Republican Tom Foley yesterday hip-hoorayed and ballyhooed an endorsement from New Haven Democrat Carl Feen. The Foley campaign described Feen as a “financial planner and long time Democratic activist who served as the State Democratic Party Finance Chairman and was a leading supporter of both Ned Lamont’s campaign for governor and the 2008 Hillary Clinton presidential campaign.”
Feen declared in his endorsement of Foley, ““The challenges we face will not be solved by electing someone who is entrenched in the politics of the last twenty years. We need someone with a new perspective, an outsider’s perspective.” The Hillary Clinton presidential campaign wasn’t a hub of outsiders, so this must be something else at work here. The Malloy campaign provided an answer Saturday afternoon. Several years ago, Feen “was caught taking a commission from Cigna at the same time that the company was providing dental insurance for state workers.” Expensive consequences followed. Oh, and Malloy running mate Nancy Wyman helped put the screws to Feen.
None of this was included in Foley’s press release.

Tom Foley has a keen knack for glossing things over, leaving things out, and brushing off critics. He is good at it. And he is so rich he can keep burying the full facts in massive PR Spin and expensive TV and radio ads. What’s the total so far, something like $11 Million bucks? I detest all these rich fakers who think they can buy elections. McMahon will go down in flames. It will be a tighter election with Malloy and Foley, but Malloy will squeak through and win. You know why? Because when people get in that voting booth, they will pause and realize that all those $$$ Millions cannot but integrity and money cannot replace experience. Women voters, especially, should pause about Mr. Foley, and reflect on what sounds like the meanest, longest, nastiest divorce in State history. I genuinely feel that Dan Malloy is the best choice for Governor of Connecticut.
I’ll bet Bill Clinton will say that on Oct. 31st, too.

Malloy didn’t mention any of this when Carl Feen was working for fellow-Democrat Ned Lamont up to the primary. Lamont and the rest of the Democrats didn’t seem to think he was that bad a guy– only when he endorses a Republican does anyone try to pretend he wasn’t fully in the Democratic fold up until yesterday.
