Mike Williams Takes a Whack—at Chris Murphy.

A CT Mirror profile of Fifth Congressional District Democratic hopeful Mike Williams features the candidate aiming some criticism at the man he’s hoping to replace, 3-term Democrat Chris Murphy.  The Wesleyan University political science professor and first-time candidate reveals that his “goal is to be as loud and noisy an advocate for the 5th District as possible.”

The New Preston Democrat followed that aspiration with this gem:  “I think some people hoped Murphy would be a little louder.” Any Democrat who has thought that only whispered it in small groups.  Murphy is very popular among party activists in the his district. Williams may have some ‘splainin’ to do as he makes his way around northwestern Connecticut this summer trying to make the case that he’s the future.
