More Horses in State GOP Race.

Farmington Republican Rich Olivastro has told state central committee members that he is a candidate for chairman of the party organization.  Olivastro is the head of Olivastro Communications. He is the founder of Citizens for Change.  You can read his declaration here.

Olivastro is a member of the National Speakers Association and spent much of his career in corporate communications. Committee members will have a chance to test those skills in the next few weeks.

Doug Hageman, a veteran party activist and state central member, is also seeking the top job.  More on his bid later.

UPDATE: A reader points out that Facebook was the spot for a Richard Olivastro for RNC Chair earlier this year.  Enfield Republican Sue Lavelli seems to have organized the open group.

Kevin – Has Chris Healy officially taken himself out of the race for State GOP Chair yet? I’ve heard that certain SCC members have given him an earful when he’s called them gauging support for re-election (as Healy has confirmed). Does anyone know if the SCC rules dictate that a plurality or a majority of SCC members constitutes a victory for the Chairmanship? If we’ve got these two guys, Aniskovich, Clark, and some others in the race, I’m sure that June SCC meeting will be quite a test of wills!
