Murphy Unveils Some Big Gets.

Congressman Christopher Murphy, a candidate for the 2012 Democratic nomination for the United States Senate, announced the endorsement of three Democratic statewide elected officials.  The Cheshire Democrat has snagged the support of Attorney General George Jepsen, Secretary of the State Denise Merrill, and State Comptroller Kevin Lembo.

Each was elected to a first term in November.  Merrill and Lembo forged ties with activists during their primary campaigns last year.  The Jepsen endorsement, however, will prove the most valuable.  Jepsen ran a shrewd race against Bysiewicz last year.  No one is better at anticipating the moves she makes in the crunch of a political contest.  In the commerce of politics, it would be hard to put a price on Jepsen’s insights insights into the Bysiewicz psyche.

At least Murphy doesn’t have to change his address for this race. The guy from Wethersfield/Southington/Cheshire has had to move to run for every other seat in his life.
