Nancy Wyman, two-term lieutenant governor and three-term comptroller, dies at 80.

Nancy Wyman, a favorite of Connecticut Democrats for decades, died Wednesday morning, The Tolland Democrat served as state representative, state comptroller and lieutenant governor in an unbroken 28-year string of election victories.

Her vibrant presence lifted large and small gatherings for decades. She embodied the joy of politics and knew how to move the levers of government, often without raising alarm or leaving fingerprints. Nancy Wyman, formed productive alliances and bonds with members of both parties. Her high heels became a symbol of her brand, getting things done her legacy.
