NRCC Running Ads in 45 Districts, None in New England.
Hotline OnCall reports that the National Republican Congressional Committee is spending $4.4 million on ads in 45 districts around the country this week. The site provides a list of which races the NRCC is up in. None of the most competitive races in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire is included in the broad swath of races in which the NRCC is trying to influence voters.
Political committees often follow the money, which will mean they may start appearing in CT-04, where Republican Den Debicella’s campaigned announced today he raised $800,000 in the third quarter, leaving him with $400,000 on hand. The state senator from Shelton has raised $1.5 million in his race against first term Democrat, Jim Himes, of Greenwich.

Jim Himes voted in favor of the $787 billion dollar stimulus plan. After saddling your family with over ten thousand dollars in additional debt, we still have a ten percent unemployment rate.
Himes voted the healthcare bill into law, a law which is already projected to cost more than was advertised.
Himes voted to increase our national debt by a record $1.9 trillion dollars, bringing our total debt to a new high of $12.4 trillion dollars.
Himes voted with Nancy Pelosi-led Democrats 95% of the time.
After two years of votes that create too few jobs but too big a role for government, most voters in Fairfield County disagree with each of these votes. Two-thirds of these voters think that Washington is on the wrong track. What does Himes have to say about his record in Washington? With less than two months to go before the election, Himes has this to say to the voters:

…I stand behind what this president and this congress has been able to do…
…I am proud as hell, not just on the economy…

CC: Himes’ record is clear — he has been an independent voice in Congress. He has bucked with his own party over spending and stood with Fairfield County families on important issues like Wall St. Reform, Energy Reform, and lowering taxes on middle class families. Once voters learn about Debicella’s extreme voting record they’ll see he is wrong for CT.
