Oh, the Sharkey Has Pretty Teeth, Dear…….

State Senator Edward Meyer is in a twist over his dealings with his House of Representatives colleague, Democrat Brendan Sharkey.  Meyer sent a scorching letter last week to “Environment Advocates and Other Interested Persons” castigating Sharkey, co-chair of the Planning and Development Committee, for killing two bills that came through Meyer’s Environment Committee.

Meyer accuses Sharkey of doing in bills on vegetation preservation and cell towers, and also points out that Sharkey “had worked for T-Mobile, the largest cell tower company in the country.”  He goes on to accuse Sharkey of not telling the truth about a poll of the P &D Committee members that Sharkey said he conducted on their support for the two bills.

According to Meyer, at an April 14th reception, “Representative Sharkey spoke to me and stated that if I questioned his ‘bona fides’ about his handling of the two bills, I ‘would regret it’ and he ‘would get’ me.”  What a rumble at a reception thrown by non-profit organizations.

Here’s the letter in full–which includes an invitation to talk about the outrage in greater detail.
