Play Ball? Malloy’s Office Wants Boozy Rematch With Lobbyists–on Thursday.

Wethersfield will be enjoying the full attention of Governor Dannel P. Malloy’s office on Thursday.  The beleaguered town is scheduled to be the site of a softball game between Malloy’s office and lobbyists, according to a message sent from the lobbyists association to members on Tuesday as hundreds of thousands of Connecticut residents struggled without power.

Batter up.  Here’s Tuesday’s message:

Hey everyone:

Thanks to all who participated in the Governor’s office/lobbyists softball game a few weeks ago.  We attracted a crowd of support in our dugout (along with plenty of beer and wine coolers) which made the whole atmosphere of the game very enjoyable.  The game was close but our team’s knack of hating to lose was enough incentive to run and catch our way to victory. Despite losing to us a few weeks, the Governor’s office is asking for a rematch this Thursday, September 1st at Wethersfield.  It’d be great to be able to play again so please let me know as soon as you can if you’d be able to play or watch this Thursday.  Thanks
