Q-Poll Find Mr. Blumenthal Breaking Away.
Democratic United States Senate candidate Richard Blumenthal may not know how a job is created, but he seems to have figured out how a big one is won. A new Quinnipiac Poll of the race for the Senate finds the 5-term attorney general showcasing an 11 point lead over professional wrestling mogul Linda McMahon. Her September surge has stopped.
The Greenwich Republican continues to have trouble with women voters, and the advantage she enjoyed with independent voters has slipped away in a race that has bounced from a 41 point advantage for Mr. Blumenthal as the start of the year to single digits in the fall. With 18 days left in the campaign and the three debates the candidates agreed to completed, the campaign will be fought in ads, mailings, phone calls and fiery press releases. If Mrs. McMahon has a new theme to unveil as her long campaign reaches the end, it will provide one more surprise in a battle stuffed with them.
With internals polls consistently showing a much closer race among the most committed voters, Mr. Blumenthal’s most serious obstacle will be a a low voter turnout in a year when dispirited voters abound.

Kevin, while disappointed with the size of the lead, remember in a close race, polls will fluctuate. Blumenthal has a 26 year public career advantage, so why is his lead so flimsy? The poll that counts is the one on November 2.
Blumenthal may have gotten a bump from the last debate. He did not show nervousness, threw a lot of lies and dirt at Linda, and kept the cheshire cat grin in place the whole time. So why at the end of the debate did he stiff Linda’s offer to shake hands? He is a bully and a boor.
Linda has three weeks to get her message of economic hope and recovery across and to reassure women and union members that they have nothing to fear from her.
Blumenthal is going to win this race. Linda McMahon has plateaued and if anything is going down hill. On the other hand, it seems every time they do a poll on the Governor’s race, Foley keeps getting closer and closer to Dannel. Unlike Linda’s, Tom’s momentum is in the right direction.
