Rasmussen: Blumenthal Breaking Away Again.
The Rasmussen poll brings glad tidings to the Blumenthal campaign and hard news for Linda McMahon in the race for the United States Senate in Connecticut. The poll of 750 likely voters shows Sergeant Blumenthal leading the professional wrestling maven by 13 points, 56-43.
With a week left, neither candidate has much new to say, so it’s hard to see how Mrs. McMahon changes the dynamic of Mr. Blumenthal’s break away. The race has seesawed since January when the Democratic attorney general entered it with a 41 point lead. The Greenwich Republican chipped away at it through the spring and summer. October brought a halt to her momentum and now, as she closes in on the $50 million spending mark, she appears to be growing further from claiming the prize.
Mrs. McMahon remains buoyant on the campaign trail, Daily Ructions understands, and expects to win on November 2nd.

It’s always darkest before the dawn is one, and “Never give up, never give up” by Winston Churchill is another good thought to tell yourself if your faith in good things happening in an imperfect world begins to falter. It is difficult to reconcile a Rosa DeLauro (sp?) and a Dick Blumenthal being elected in an Obama midterm election unless you remind yourself that they have had the benefit of a protective media for years. Most voters don’t pay a whole lot of attention during the year to what is going on, unless the media cues them in. They vote for the same party candidates every time, regardless of how poorly that party serves the Republic. They have been fed the “government cheese,” as Mark Levin puts it, bit by bit until it becomes a way of life to them. The liberals bought the maxim that a benefit once given by the government, no matter how small, cannot be taken away. Now we see that we have almost reached the point in history that liberals dream about, virtual invincibility. Now we see what Jefferson had in mind when he retorted, “A republic, if you can keep it, madam” to the question, “What kind of government are you giving us, Mr. Jefferson?”
Have the voters of CT become so blinded that they cannot account that they are losing further ground and freedoms each time they elect liberal office seekers? Have the voters reached the point of not being able to identify those office seekers who are “the wolves in sheep’s clothing” that prey upon them?
Linda, offers the alternative to elect a decent, hard working, and clear thinking person who is the voice of reason and able to negotiate the tough decisions which will preserve American ideals, while restoring confidence in America’s strength.
