Rell Not Planning to Attend Malloy Inauguration. Weicker Not Invited.

As of Monday afternoon, Governor M. Jodi Rell was not planning to attend the swearing-in of Democratic and Working Family Governor-elect Dannel Malloy on Wednesday.  Those plans could change but as the week began, it was looking like Rell would end her 6 1/2 year tenure with a reading day.

While Rell was invited to attend Malloy’s swearing-in, former Governor Lowell P. Weicker, Jr, the state’s only living former chief executive who hasn’t served a stretch in the hoosegow, has not been asked to join the former Stamford mayor at the august ritual in Hartford tomorrow.

UPDATE: Team Malloy says it did extend an invitation to former Governor Weicker to attend the inauguration of Dan Malloy.  The invitation was sent to Charlottesville, Virginia, where Weicker no longer lives.
