Republicans Win Top Line on State Ballot.

Connecticut Supreme Court has ruled Republicans will have the top line on the ballot across the state in November’s elections. The decision has its roots in 2010 Republican gubernatorial nominee Tom Foley’s narrow loss to Democrat Dannel P. Malloy. Foley received the most votes on a single party line. Malloy’s combined Democratic and Working Family Parties line allowed him to eek to victory. The disputed law gives the top ballot positing to the party of the gubernatorial candidate who got the most votes on its line. In 2010, that was Foley.
