Retirement Announcements Expected As Legislative Session Nears End. Prague, Zalaski Expected to Take Bows.

State Senator Edith Prague (D-Columbia) is expected to announce tonight or tomorrow she will not seek a tenth term, Daily Ructions can report. The disputatious veteran has suffered from ill-health, suffering a stroke last year. Representatives Linda Orange (D-Colchester) and Zeke Zalaski (D-Southington) are also likely to tell colleagues and constituents Wednesday that they will not seek re-election to the General Assembly in November.

Republicans hope that they can run competitive races in the three open seats.

UPDATE: A spokesman for the House Democrats writes to say that Linda Orange is seeking re-election. That will please Orange’s allies among state troopers.
