Rick Green Breaks an Inconvenient Story. Worker Concessions to Finance Malloy Edifice Envy.
Rick Green confirms that while negotiators have been working to squeeze $1 billion a year out of state employees, some members of the Malloy administration have been busy working on how to spend what workers give up. That’s how it’s going to feel. The administration has been working on a building program to be centered around the ailing University of Connecticut Health Center. Green reports the plan has an initial price tag of $900 million. Where is the shared sacrifice in that?
A Malloy spokesperson confirms something “is in the works” with an announcement on the horizon. This could mean worker questions about any agreement reached between the administration and union officials will become pointed, even pungent.
This has a very bad look to it. The administration is pushing for a lot of concessions that will change people’s lives. It won’t be hard to understand why they would feel that good faith may have taken a furlough from the Malloy administration side of the table.

It’s game over for Connecticut Kevin. Give it up, pack your bags and bug out while you can. That’s my plan. For real. The spending and ruling elite have won. I don’t know what CT is going to look like in 20 years and I’m almost relieved in a way that I won’t be alive to see it. It’s sad in a way watching the death throes of a state I’ve called mine my entire life. I have never seen an elected body with so little spine and vision as the one we’ve been suffering under since the days of Weicker. I’d like to think that maybe some of them feel ashamed of themselves, but I think nearly all of the suffer from severe cases of narcisim. It’s almost funny to watch Malloy screw the same people that supported him, and will support him again for his re-election. Pure insanity.
