Right Candidate, Wrong Campaign.

Candidates have been jumping around from race to race as headwinds and opportunity knock them about.  Tom Foley was chased out of the U.S. Senate campaign by Linda McMahon’s millions and landed in the race for governor.  Jumping into a new race doesn’t mean you have to give up your stock photos, but you do need to be careful about the ones you use.

Here’s a Foley photo from the Senate campaign used in a mailing to delegates by Foley’s gubernatorial campaign.  It can add to the confusion about who wants to be what on any given day.

Foley’s got no personality. Boughton’s a much better candidate for the GOP – but he doesn’t have the luxury of millions of his own $ to piss away like Foley does. I still say Stewart from New Britain would be the best candidate against Malloy.

That reminds me of the time we were handing out Ed Munster lapel stickers at a Grassroots East function when we realized they were “State Senate” not “Congress”! We got the right ones and went around the room and placed them over the wrong ones as inconspicuously as we could. Lesson learned, trash the old stuff before it gets you in trouble.
